My name is Sonia Kahlon and I create self-portrait fine art photography images. I currently split my time between Bucks County, PA, and New York City.

I enjoy photographing the natural environment of Bucks County, PA as well as the urban environment of NYC. I am very grateful to be able to merge self-portrait photography with my two habitats.

This work is a series of self-portraits where I explore the connection with our immediate surroundings. They are both complex ecosystems that breathe, decay, feed, and communicate through a series of elaborate signals. The goal of these ecosystems is to achieve balance and harmony between all of their inhabitants but in very different ways.

My intention is to create images where the subject relates to their landscape in a surprising and whimsical way.  In the context of this relationship, I am striving to examine some of my personal struggles and realizations.

My images explore mental health and addiction struggles with the aim of providing understanding and removing the stigma from those suffering
